You would like to order a commission piece, but don’t know where to start?
Lucky for you, you’re in just the right place!
Here is a little rundown of how the process works:
Start with an idea!
I specialize in pets, portraits, and homes, but I can truly paint anything you can think of!
Is this a gift? Think of a memory you have with the recipient or find photos that remind you of them.
2. Reference photos
Whether you just have one photo or a whole album, these are super helpful and necessary for me to transform your ideas into a masterpiece!
I usually copy exactly from the photo, but I can absolutely make any changes or additions as well.
Some examples: I can change the background of a photo or erase certain elements of an image. One time I was even requested to put the head of a customer’s friend on the body of a horse! We can definitely get creative
3. Size and Pricing
If you have a particular budget in mind, we can start there!
The prices are subject to change, but this guide is pretty close to what I typically charge per painting.
Shipping costs are also determined by the size of the piece and the location of where its new home is!
4. Canvas? Mixed media paper? Drawing? What does this all mean??
To explain the different options, first ask yourself if you would like to frame this painting.
Though I do not offer framing services, I can absolutely direct you to frames I would recommend if you are interested! (Just let me know in your inquiry)
B&W drawing- if you are on a tighter budget or prefer the black and white look, I offer graphite pencil drawings that will beautifully capture your memory on paper!
Have something else in mind? Send any ideas my way!! Do not feel limited to these three options because I can work in nearly any medium that suits your fancy.
5. Connect with me and let’s get to work!
Simply send me an email (ColorsoftheWynned@gmail.com) with all of this information, and I will get started as soon as possible
FAQs:
How long does the painting process usually take?
I give myself a 2 week deadline per commission painting, but sometimes life gets crazy so I may need a little more time and greatly appreciate your patience! (: If there is a strict deadline you need the painting by, I will do my absolute best to finish as soon as possible
When and how do I pay?
You are welcome to pay at any point after the commission is ordered, but you are also welcome to wait until you are satisfied with the finished product.
I accept Venmo, mailed cash or check, and I can also email an invoice!
